I have been back many more times and have forgotten about a couple of inaccuracies in this post.

Yes, Persian.

Yes, they have hummus.

In general I don't seek out owners and talk to them. I'll leave that to proper critics. So occasionally I make a mistake. The DLChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12804981463092544712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1889765136853809643.post-87011171293909415322009-04-05T10:20:00.000-05:002009-04-05T10:20:00.000-05:00Perhaps you should have asked the owner the origin...Perhaps you should have asked the owner the origin of the dishes, why the assortment, etc. If you had bothered to ask the owner where all the pictures, folk art, etc were from, you would have realized that the background is Persian, and he is accommodating his customer base by having the additional "foreign" dishes - hummus, baba ghanouj, etc. Persians are usually quite gracious and flattered when someone expresses interest in their culture - like the U.S., their dishes vary somewhat family to family, and according to the various religious/ethnic groups in Iran...farsigalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09817404117770333387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1889765136853809643.post-50024467754823475962008-10-25T08:27:00.000-05:002008-10-25T08:27:00.000-05:00As a person who has actually worked there, I can t...As a person who has actually worked there, I can tell you that Hummus absolutely is on the buffet every single day--this had to have been a fluke. Since a lot of the customers are Arab, Indian, American and Persian, there is something on the buffet for everyone. I also updated the menu since then as well. We've kept the doors open for five successful years. The food tastes great & is reasonably priced. From the picture, and the fact that they don't serve Hummus, this seems like an Afghani/Persian place. Falafel is not something you should expect at a place that doesn't serve hummus, but I guess these guys thought they could expand their menu slightly by adding a friend ball of chickpeas dough.Outsiderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16612593785027357233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1889765136853809643.post-81548040001787947052008-06-17T12:33:00.000-05:002008-06-17T12:33:00.000-05:00I love sage advice from people who know what somet...I love sage advice from people who know what something called a "pakorah" is. (I'm not a fan of Indian food, if for no other reason than I'm non-dairy, and that ruins a lot of their dishes for me.)

Sounds like a fun place to try!Faithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13586875268181033533noreply@blogger.com
